EBO AND REVOLT
Action, Ebó-performance in photography, 2020
Fire, raw cotton sash, palm oil, goat leather and assorted objects
What do you do with your revolt?
From feeling to action. Channel anguish to ensure tomorrow.
To act and break the silencing mechanisms imposed by the colonizing framework of whiteness, the looting of the territory and the execution of the “civilizing” project that amputates us and cripples life.
Fill in the spaces with movement. Motivate/tension. Create layers of protection. Back to the future; The opposite diaspora: connection with materiality and possible incorporations. The future belongs to the "old". Bathe in palm oil, drown colonialities and burn. Dispatch wounds — densify the territory. I will settle down in the name of tomorrow.
The work is part of the series "Ebó and Revolt" composed of works in different languages.
